AFL Power Rankings: Round 9 2013

RISING UP

The Gold Coast Suns have been the big improver of 2013, and they picked up some more ranking points on the weekend with a good performance at the MCG against Hawthorn. Meanwhile, Essendon reversed its form drop of the past few weeks with a comfortable win in the Dreamtime match against Richmond, moving up from 11th to 9th.

FALLING DOWN

The Tigers swapped places with the Bombers, and lost ranking points for the fourth time in its past six matches. However, the largest drop in ranking points for the round belonged to St. Kilda, who lost to the 16th-ranked Bulldogs.  

ALSO OF NOTE

Geelong, Fremantle, Sydney, and West Coast all gained a couple of ranking points after large wins on the weekend. Along with the Hawks and Adelaide, they have made up the top six ranked teams after six out of the nine rounds this season.
